Who knew so many people would start blogs on dog training. One thing this tells me is that there are a lot of newer dog owners out there who just want to write about how their dog training is going and to hear from others around their experience of training their dogs.

So in this post as I write as a regular every day dog owner I just wanted to highlight a training tip I picked up on from my 11 year old daughter recently. She often takes some dog treats with her when she goes for walks with our dog Cola. The reason she does this she told me is so that she can work with Cola on commands like "sit" and "stay" while out on the walk. She also loves to work with Cola on taking little jumps over what ever objects come along on the walk. What an Awesome idea, so simple yet brilliant. Way to go Kennedy!

For further regular people kind of info on dog training check out the program
http://tinyurl.com/dogschool.
Review the dog obedience training program yourself at:

I would suggest that this is especially true if you live in an urban area and you want to take your pet for regular dog walks in your community.

Therefore in terms of dog training, teaching the heel command should be one of the first things you focus on. What is the heel command you say? I am constantly looking for valuable dog training tips and websites with useful dog training information. I recently stumbled upon the site http://www.barkbytes.com/training/heel.htm which shares that the heel command creates the expectation that your dog will walk consistently next to you on your left side, on command.

You will have to be patient and consistent when teaching this command to your dog but once learned the rewards for you and your dog will be fantastic! Almost always we engage in dog training to change our dog's negative behaviors or to encourage new positive behaviors.

One of the first steps to take in training to curb negative dog behaviors is to identify which behavior you are going to focus on. In almost every case, you will experience greater success if you choose one negative behavior at a time to focus your training on, examples of negative behaviors are; biting, whining, and aggressive behavior.

Good luck with your dog training and remember to choose one behavior to focus on for greater success. I know I have and more so recently as our dog has been 'slipping' in it's behaviors lately. Our dog Cola knows very well where her bathroom spot is in the house but sometimes she will 'forget' or choose to go somewhere else.

It has been cold lately in the house and I think she prefers to stand on the warm carpet to relieve herself. Her bathroom spot is in the kitchen where there is no carpet and the floor is colder, especially in the morning. One of the ways we have been reminding her to go in her 'spot' is by blocking off the living room in the morning so that she does not have access to the warm carpet until after she has gone. This has been working very well as part of our re-training her.

I wonder if others of you have experienced similar 'slips' in behavior with your dogs?

For more dog training tips be sure to check out the SitStayFetch program
Review the dog obedience training program yourself at:

The challenging behaviors included biting, chewing, barking, whining, and behaving aggressively. We also needed assistance with house training.

After researching a number of great dog training programs the one that stood out the most for us was the SitStayFetch dog training program. This is a very detailed, well researched, yet easily applied dog training program. One of the key benefits of this program is that it will help dog owners stop behavior problems fast! The overall presentation of the program and it's website were very appealing to us as was the satisfaction guarantee.

Many of our dog's negative behaviors have decreased or stopped all together. I highly recommend this dog training program.
